Hello! So pleased you've popped in for a little more information.

I am so passionate about keeping abreast of the latest educational trends and developments. Since completing my Bachelor of Education in 2015, I have spent the last 7 years in both mainstream and specialist schools. During this time, I have completed my Master of Education specialising in Educational Leadership. I found my true passion in providing quality, evidence-based intervention and extension to individuals and small groups. In early 2021, I went on to complete SPELD's Sounds-Write training, whereby I now proudly offer their code-oriented instructional programme for teaching my students how to read and spell. I absolutely love it as it’s highly structured, cumulative, sequential, and explicit. Plus, there is SO much research (including case studies from schools) to prove it’s setting up our learners for success! For a little light reading, see this:

I have spent the last three years offering private intervention and extension support both online and face to face in my home office, while working part time in schools as a Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) teacher. This year, I plan to study the Latrobe University’s 'The Science of Language and Reading.’
This year (2023), I completed Lifelong Literacy's 'Spelling for Life' program to enhance my skills in teaching spelling, or as course puts it; to 'Uncover the simplicity and science of spelling.'

In my personal life, I enjoy the simple things; a cheese platter, a sunset, playing dinosaurs with my three-year old son Arlo, and the occasional Netflix binge with my husband, Alvin. Alvin is a child psychologist, too so I find myself seeking his support to better my practices, as he has a wealth of knowledge on child development.
